- Glossary of Orthodontic Terms Clicking on this link will open a new page and take you to the Glossary page at the American Association of Orthodontists Home Page. When you are done, just close the window to get back to this page. (I have this site open in a separate window in case you want to tile the windows and leave the glossary open while you are browsing my site).
- Appliance Information Information about what to expect, care for, how to use appliances, elastics, and other things that I may use during the course of your treatment. Click on the "Tell me more" link at the end of a topic for in depth discussions about the theory behind the appliances, their design, and what type of response we expect (the "Tell me more" section may contain technical language and is intended for people with medical or dental backgrounds).
- Growth and Development Technical (for those familiar with medical and dental terminology) and non-technical explanations may be provided. If this is the case, separate links will be provided next to the topic.
- Orthodontic problems and solutions Cases that I have treated or are in the course of treatment are presented to illustrate different types of problems and their outcomes. Where applicable, I have also included cases with less than ideal results (if the case is one that I have treated, I will state this, otherwise, the treatment was provided by someone other than myself) to illustrate the risks you should be aware of. All post-treatment images are taken at the visit when the braces or appliances are removed. I do my best to describe things in lay terms and avoid the use of dental terminology (dental terminology was developed to adequately describe problems and their treatments, so this is a lot harder than you might think...).
- FAQ Answers to frequently asked questions are provided in this section. You may wish to check this page first to see if your question is here before browsing the other sections.
